Our Declaration of Faith

These are the foundational beliefs we hold, tried and true, as we engage our world.

  • Biblical Authority

    In the verbal inspiration of the Bible

  • The Trinity

    In one God eternally existing in three persons: namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • The Person and Work of Christ

    That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our Advocate.

  • Sin and Repentance

    That all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

  • Salvation by Faith

    That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Sanctification

    In sanctification after accepting Jesus Christ, through faith in His sacrificial blood, through the Word, and by the Holy Spirit.

  • Holy Living

    Holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.

  • The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

    In the baptism with the Holy Spirit after God cleanses the heart.

  • The Evidence of the Holy Spirit

    In a heavenly demonstration, as exemplified in Acts 2:1–4 and Acts 10:45–46, as the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.

  • Water Baptism

    In water baptism by immersion, and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

  • Divine Healing

    Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement (Christ’s sacrifice).

  • Church Ordinances

    In the Lord’s Supper (Communion) and the washing of the feet of fellow believers (Christ’s demonstration of humility and service).

  • The Second Coming of Christ

    In the premillennial second coming of Jesus: first, to resurrect righteous believers who have died and to take up living believers to Him in the air; second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

  • Final Judgment and Eternity

    In the bodily resurrection—eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Our Pastors

We’re so glad you’re here!

Chip and Johnna Massey lead IF Church with a heart for faith, family, and community. Their story began in Farmville, where they met during their time at Ft. Pickett, and it’s come full circle as they return to plant roots here once again. Chip, an ordained minister through the Church of God, brings decades of ministry and business leadership, while Johnna adds years of pastoral and administrative experience. Together, they’ve raised their family in the church, instilling faith and service in the next generation. For them, IF Church isn’t just a calling—it’s coming home.
